Agnes J. Jenkins, 79, of Elco, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born July 14, 1932, in Stockdale, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Killius Ray. Agnes was a very active member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Roscoe American Legion Post 801 Auxiliary. She is survived by four children, Mary Ann Vrable and her husband, James, of Brownsville, Thomas Jenkins and his wife, Denise, of Sunderland, Md, Janie Jacobs and her husband, Dennis, of Belle Vernon, and Nancy Richardson, of Stockdale; six grandchildren, Dennis and Julia Jacobs, Garick, Kelly, and Bryce Jenkins, and Eliza Richardson; a sister, Rosemary Dranzo, of Roscoe; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, on June 5, 1993; her brothers Fred and Bill "Rawhide" Ray; a sister, Barbara Tunney; and a nephew, Michael Dranzo. Friends will be received Friday, Sept. 2, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, where a funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ernie DeLuca and Pastor Brian Carroll presiding. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center. In lieu of flower, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Roscoe United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 507, Roscoe, PA 15477.
