Bertha A. Borkowski

Bertha A. Borkowski, 87, of Donora, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, in the IHS Greenery of Canonsburg. A daughter of the late John and Barbara Kuntz Miklos, she was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Donora. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church, in Donora, and enjoyed many hobbies; but her favorites were crocheting and needlework. Mrs. Borkowski was retired from the former Acutran Customs Transformer plant, in Donora, where she worked on the assembly line rebuilding transformers. She is survived by her sons, Leonard Borkowski, with whom she resided, Richard Borkowski and wife, Barb, of Nevada, and Bernard Borkowski and wife, Barb, of Donora; grandsons, Douglas and Kevin Borkowski; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 1, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a blessing service will be held at 8 p.m. with Rev. Gerald Mikonis presiding. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
