Betty M. Lindsay, 88, formerly of Clover Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008. She was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Elco, a daughter of the late Nixon and Bertha Gollick O'Neil. Mrs. Lindsay was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She and her husband Alfred owned and operated Lindsay's Texaco Service of Clover Hill from 1949 to 1982. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Janice Lindsay, of Grand Ledge, Mich., and Jerry and Maureen Lindsay, of Speers; four grandchildren, Stacy (Ken) Barry, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Trisha (Mike) Boughton, of Charlotte, Mich., Kimberly (Michael) Leasure, of Roscoe, and Timothy (Jill) Lindsay, of Monessen; two great-grandchildren, Aaron Boughton and Tanner Barry; a brother, Robert L. O'Neil, of Coal Center; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lindsay, in 1991. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., Roscoe. A funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery. The funeral home doors will be open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
