Daniel J. Lehr, 66, of Long Branch, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born in North Charleroi on Dec. 11, 1947, he was a son of the late Joseph Lehr and Delores Jurak Lehr of Carroll Township. Mr. Lehr was retired from USX Clairton Mill. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1970, a member of the California American Legion, California Young Men's Club and the California Gun Club. Surviving are his wife, Paula Popelas Lehr; three sons, Christian and Debbie Lehr, Daniel and Heather Lehr and Mark Lehr and Noah Calderon all of Arizona; five stepchildren, Teddy Pfarr, Dana Pfarr, Stacey Cogar, Bobbi Goodman and Barbie Upton; two brothers, Dale and Kim Lehr of West Newton and Dave and Cindy Lehr of Speers; and a sister, Patti Lehr of Elco; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, in the MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Lori Walters officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The California American Legion will have services in the funeral home at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute Development Department, Forbes Tower, Suite 8084, 3600 Forbes Ave. at Meyran Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213
