Donna M. Furnier

Donna M. Furnier 62 of Roscoe, died surrounded by her family on Wednesday May 10, 2017. Born in N. Charleroi on November 26, 1954, a daughter of the late Daniel and Wilma Sheets Furnier. Donna was the Superintendent of Jerfferson-Morgan School District since 2005. She had worked previously for the school district as the curriculum coordinator and assistant high school principal since 1999. Donna had served as the superintendent of record at the Greene County Career and Technology Center and has worked on several committees for the Community Action Southwest.

Prior to her educational positions, she had owned the Kozy Nook diner in Brownsville and was the chief chef. She received her Bachelor's degree in science education with a certification in English, a Master of Arts in English, a principal certification and superintendent letter of eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania. She considered all of the children in her district as "her children".

Donna is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Philip D. and Camila Alarcon Garrow of Phoenix, AZ, a daughter and son-in-law Becky and Alec Pipik of Roscoe, 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Vicki Furnier of Coal Center and Dane and Elizabeth Furnier of Houston, TX, 2 grandchildren Brody J. and Brayden Pipik, a niece Jessica Furnier, Donna's children's father Philip L. Garrow of California, PA and her "Sweetie" and life companion John Kent Folmar of California, PA.

Visitation will be held in the Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe on Saturday May 13, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and on Sunday only from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 15 at 1:00pm at the Jefferson-Morgan High School Auditorium. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be expressed at http://www.melenyzer.com/
