Dorothy "Dee" Gillen, 89, of Roscoe, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Justine's Personal Care Home, Allenport. Born April 18, 1925, in Roscoe a daughter of Mike and Molly Bjelos Suzich. A member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church Roscoe, the church's Ladies Guild, Card Club and Silver Sneakers. Dee was known for her great baking of gobs, cupcakes and cream puffs She was a wonderful seamstress and loved being a homemaker, wife and mother. One of her favorite things was black raspberry jam, which she made as well. She is survived by three sons, Vince and wife, Patti Gillen, of Burgettstown, John and wife, Debbie Gillen, of Roscoe, and Nick and wife, Mary Kay Gillen, of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Becky Barbero of Roscoe; two brothers, Sam Suzich of Lonconing, Md., and Nick Suzich of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Ann Lewis of Elco, and Martha Medich of Westmoreland City; six grandchildren, Melissa Christian, Brady Barbero, Christopher, Jacob and Cooper Gillen and Chelsey Morich; eight great-grandchildren, Stella and Roxie Christian, Reagan, Parker, Bailey and Miko Gillen, and Quinn and Rocco Barbero; a sister-in-law, Annie Samala of Stockdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gillen, in 2010; three brothers, Mike, William and Harry Suzich; and two sisters, Sarah Semich and Kate Werlwas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael Zavage officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Coal Center.
