Dorothy E. Wendel, 90, formerly of Monessen, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 in the Washington County Health Center. A daughter of the late Judson and Elizabeth (Peters) Coulter, she was born May 23, 1918, in Monongahela. A graduate of Donora High School with the class of 1936, she worked for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper for the former Samuels Trucking Company in Monessen. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Eagles Club, both in Monessen and enjoyed ceramics in her spare time. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ron Sanner, of Forest City; two grandsons, Jeffrey Sanner and wife Kerry Ann, of Old Bridge, N.J., and Shawn Sanner and wife Lisa, of Jackson, N.J.; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Caroline Sanner; and one sister, Grace Jones, of Ormond Beach, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul L. Coulter. A memorial service will be held to honor Dorothy at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, with the Rev.
