Edward Grygiel, Sr., 93, formerly of Stockdale, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Donora. Before relocating to Tuscaloosa, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post 801, both in Roscoe, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 209 in North Belle Vernon. Left to cherish his memory are a son, Edward Grygiel, Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Vincent, Alabama; a daughter, Cynthia Thomas and husband, Dwight, of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandson, Jason Zatrock, of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Sonya Matos; and great-granddaughter, Brook Lacy Baker. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, on Jan. 7, 2000; two brothers, Leo and Walter; and a sister, Millie. A memorial service for Ed will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, with the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 209 conducting a service at 11 a.m. immediately followed by American Legion Post 801. Rev. Mike Zavage of St. Joseph Catholic Church will conduct his service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center.
