Elmer Maynard Devore Jr. 67 of New Eagle and formerly of Charleroi, died Sunday May 12, 2019 at his home. Born in Monongahela on August 25, 1951, a son of Elmer Maynard and Loretta Mickey Devore Sr..
Elmer was a retired trackman operator for the Norfolk Southern Railroad after 38 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Vanderbilt. Elmer loved fishing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife Frances Eloise Mowry Devore of New Eagle, 2 sons; Francis Devore of Charleroi and Anthony Devore of West Mifflin, 2 daughters; Desiree Devore of Charleroi and Jessica Devore of Pittsburgh, a step-daughter Lynne Kostyk of Windbor, a brother Eddie Devore of Charleroi, 2 sisters; Nancy Vargo of Donora and Shirley Devore of Monessen, a step-brother Darrin Grimes of Donora, 8 grandchildren; Alex, Taylon, Taylor, Dillon, Isihia, Ashley, Alyssia and Aubree, an aunt Edith Snyder of Ft. Pierce, FL and an uncle Richard Devore of New Castle, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi where funeral services will take place at 7:30pm on Wednesday with Pastor Lawrence King presiding. Interment will be private.
