Frances Stockton Alberta, 92, of Roscoe, passed away on Jan. 25, 2012, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Long Stockton, she was born April 8, 1919, in Long Branch. She was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 484 Auxiliary in Fayette City, and a former member of the Women's Club, also in Fayette City. Mrs. Alberta enjoyed spending time with her family and always loved to go shopping. Left to cherish the many memories are a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Al Marcy, of Stockdale; a granddaughter, Kristin Marcy, of Stockdale; a grandson, Brad Marcy, and his fiancAC., Nora Schumacher, of Sandusky, OH; a sister-in-law, Ange Stockton, of New York; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, on Feb. 23, 1993; sisters, Margaret Brewer, Mary Brewer, Ethel Yates, and Ruth McDonald; and a brother, William "T" Stockton. Friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, where a funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 28, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Carroll presiding. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Roscoe United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 507, Roscoe, PA 15477.
