Surrounded by her loving family, Frances (Pichard) Stark, 94, formerly of Roscoe, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Born Oct. 8, 1919, in Coal Center, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Gabrielle Coven Pichard. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #801 Auxiliary, both in Roscoe, and was very active at the Oaks Senior Center and worked in the kitchen at the Center in the Woods. Frances was known for her for baking, especially her award winning peach cookies. Left to cherish the many wonderful memories are her son, Jerry and wife Janice Stark, of Grasonville, MD; daughters, Janice and husband Fred Abadini, of Stafford, VA, and Myra Thomas, of Clarksville, PA; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Myron "Butch" Stark, on July 23, 1983; one brother; and 4 sisters. Frances was the last surviving member of her family. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, with Rev. Candace Cook presiding. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the California PA Senior Day Care Center, Center in the Woods, 130 Woodland Court, Brownsville, PA 15417.
