George Gatalica, 70, of Allenport passed December 7, 2008 after a courageous fight with a lengthy illness. He was born December 17, 1937 in Charleroi a son of the late Milan and Martha Emily Nozier Gatalica. Mr. Gatalica was Methodist by Faith, served as Constable for Allenport, and was a member of the Allenport Fire Dept for many years. He is survived three children: Kimberly Jo Lundy of Allenport, George K. Gatalica of Monongahela, and Joellynn Reed of West Newton, six grandchildren: Jason Albert Lundy, Kayla Brooke Gatalica, Rachel Lauren Gatalica, Braya Danay Lundy, Axel Elijah Reed, and Lexa Rae Reed, four siblings; sisters Nesbit Yakovich of Parma Ohio, and June Briggs (David) of Speers, a brother Dennis Gatalica (Carol) of N. Charleroi, and a sister Pauline Laskey of Charleroi, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Colleen Black Gatalica who passed Nov. 5, 2008. They would have celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary in June of 2008. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9th & 10th in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes, & Cremation Service, Inc. in Roscoe where the funeral service will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Randy Landerman of Grace United Methodist Church officiating.
