Georgeanna M. Shupenko

Georgeanna M. Shupenko, 72, of Dunlevy, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Grandville on February 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Hannen. Georgeanna enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to the Wheeling casino and trying her luck at scratch-off lottery tickets and could often be found having coffee and talking with her friends at the McDonalds in Charleroi. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Donna Zetka, of Roscoe, and Anna Timko and son-in-law, Larry, of Stockdale; her son, Joseph Shupenko, of Charleroi; grandchildren, Taylor Koslasky, Joseph and Sammi Jo Shupenko, Matthew and Jacob Timko, and Sarah Helon; sister, Janet Scott, of Roscoe, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, who passed away in 1995; brothers, James and Kenneth Hannen; and sisters, Alma Bova, Genevieve Carson, Iva Goodwell, Olive Hotz, Alice Zelinsky, and Ida Jean Sadler. Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, at 11 a.m. with Elder James Abbott of the Church of Jesus Christ presiding. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery.
