Harold "Yip" Donaldson

Harold John (Yip) Donaldson, 88 of Roscoe, died Wednesday June 22, 2016 surrounded by his family at home. Born in Roscoe on January 30, 1928 a son of Robert and Hattie Rhanke Donaldson. A World War II U.S Army Veteran. Harold was formerly employed by US Steel Corp as a barge deckhand. Until his retirement was the owner of Donaldson's Cabinets in Roscoe. He served as a past Mayor for the borough of Roscoe. A member of the Roscoe American Legion Post 801, the Roscoe Slovak Club, and the Allenport Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed his time fishing, reading, and spending time with his buddies. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Allan Rygelski of Stockdale, Chris and Mark Garrett of Roscoe, Pamela and William Podany of Roscoe, Becky and Pete Vaccaro of Speers, four grandchildren Shelbey and Jeff Rojik of Pittsburgh, Todd and Amy Rygelski of Roscoe, Brittany and Michael Higham of Canonsburg, Nick Vaccaro of Speers, four great-grandchildren Garrett and Andrew Rojik, Ally Rygelski. and Baby Girl Higham who is due in one month. Also survived by the mother of his children Jacqueline McCrory Donaldson of Stockdale. Preceeded in death by a brother Robert Donaldson and three sisters Margie Garrett, Doris O'Neil, and Irene Duvall. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services were private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Inc., Roscoe.
