Helen (Zuraw) Bohlander, 96, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in Nevaeh Cove Personal Care Home. A daughter of the late Akim (Mike) and Anna Kevech Zuraw, she was born Jan. 31, 1915 in Charleroi. Helen was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Charleroi and a former member of the church's Ladies Altar Society. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Lee and Raymond Conrad of North Charleroi; and son, Gerald M. Bohlander of San Bernardino, CA. Helen was a loving and caring nana to her grandchildren, Rachel Conrad Fleming, and husband, Doug, Melissa Conrad Corey, and husband, Henry, Heather Bohlander McMinds, and husband, Scott, and Luke John and Jonathan William Bohlander. She was also a wonderful great-nana to her great-grandchildren, Henry and Julia Helen Corey, Gianna Fleming, and Austin and Camryn McMinds; and was known as Aunt Helen to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Bohlander, on Aug. 9, 1970, and a son, John Phillip Bohlander, on Dec. 26, 2009. Friends will be received Friday, Feb. 11, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church with Rev. Gregory Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 1000 Lookout Ave., Charleroi.
