Herbert Goaziou Jr., 94, of Charleroi, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Born May 25, 1913, he was the son of the late Herbert Sr. and Celestine Reiter Goaziou. He was Lutheran by faith. Herbert was a lifetime member and the last charter member of the Charleroi Lions Club, a charter member of the Charleroi Historical Society, and a lifetime member of the Charleroi Elks Club, where he served as treasurer for over 50 years. He was the owner of Goaziou Printing in Charleroi. Survivors include two nieces: Darlene Spridik Pennline, of Charleroi, and Jaqui Spridik Oliver, of Michigan; two great-nieces; Jeri Painter and husband Glenn, of Webster, and Dania McKnight and husband Joel, of Forward Township; one great-nephew, Michael Fiori and wife Laura, of Mt. Morris; two great-great-nieces, Tara Martin and husband Michael, and Summerlee Fiori; three great-great-nephews, Trey and Layton Fiori and Chance McKnight; two great-great-great-nieces, Ashlee and Kalynn Campbell; and one great-great-great-nephew, Zakerylee Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Louie "Boots" Goaziou; one sister, Clemence Spridik; and one great-nephew, Robert Fiori Jr. Friends will be received Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where members of the Charleroi Elks will conduct a service at 7 p.m., followed by a Charleroi Lions Club service at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 25, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bruce Northey officiating. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery.
