James E. Barber, 52, of Roscoe, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of Mon Valley Hospital on Thursday, October 8, 2009. Born in Roscoe on Nov. 2, 1956, he is the son of Jim and Stef (Muzina) Barber of Roscoe. A graduate of California High School Class of 1974, Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic minister and also a member of American Legion Post #801. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Colleen (Lilly) Barber; his sons, Stephen and Matthew of Roscoe; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Chrissy Barber of Jacksonville, Fla; nieces, Olivia and Emily Barber and Caitlynn Warren; nephew, Nick Warren; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cathleen and John Warren; his God-mother, Marie Bafile; and numerous aunts and uncles. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. A Blessing service will be held Monday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with Rev. George Moneck officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Coal Center.
