James E. Nagy

James E. Nagy, 85, of Allenport, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16, 2013. A son of the late Peter and Johanna Illar Nagy, he was born on June 27, 1927, in Charleroi. Mr. Nagy was a retired coalminer and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and spending time with the family dog, Bo. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, David Prentice and wife, Virginia, and Thomas Prentice and wife, Traci; daughter Sandy Sphar and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Michelle Hart and husband, Don, Sherry Bodiger and husband, Dan, Kimberly Mazur and husband, Andrew, Nichole, Ashley and Julia; great-grandchildren, Erin, Christian, Koryn and husband, Brian, Kennedy, Alison, Danielle, Andrew, Nathan and T.J.; sisters, Mary Byrd and husband, Ben, Emma Thomas, Irene Baggett and Helen DeMoss; niece, Lynn Nagy; and nephew, Steve Nagy. Mr. Nagy was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Lois M. Nagy, on April 23, 2013; a granddaughter, Robin; a sister, Elizabeth Savich; and brothers, Steve and Pete Nagy. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 20, in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
