Jessie E. Bevan

Jessie E. Bevan 89 formerly of Elco passed Tuesday August 13, 2024 at Hempfield Manor Greensburg. Born in Granville on August 8, 1935, a daughter of Fredrick and Helen Gaskill Martina.

During her adult years, Jessie had worked at the former Toy City, Johnny’s Market and D&S Variety. She was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church. Jessie was a 40 year volunteer for the Allenport food bank and many other charities. She was a die hard fan of the tv show “Texas Ranger”, loved Tom Selleck and Steve Harvey and was a true “Fanilow”, constantly listening to the music of Barry Manilow. 

Jessie is survived by 2 sons; Michael (Grace) Bevan of East Huntingdon and Richard (Toni) Bevan of Allenport, a daughter Debbie (Jim) Campbell of Dunbar, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters; Julie Wisyanski of Jefferson Hills, Patti Rossell of Stafford, VA and Patty Truskey of Long Branch and her very good friend Mary Brumley.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilson H. Bevan on July 17, 2014, 2 infant sons; Patrick Wilson Bevan and Wilson Patrick Bevan, 3 brothers; Richard, Louis and James Martina and 2 sisters; Dorothy Presky and Lorraine Johns. 

Visitation will be held on Friday August 16, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where funeral services will be held on Saturday August 17 at 10am with Rev. Candace Cook presiding. Interment will follow at Howe Cemetery Long Branch.
