John E. Bailey, 82, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Monday, March 19, 2012. A son of the late Joseph and Anna Kovach Bailey, he was born March 16, 1930, in Roscoe. Mr. Bailey was a U.S. Air Force veteran who proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 801 in Roscoe. During his younger years, Mr. Bailey played soccer for the Dunlevy Redbirds. His love and passion for soccer was apparent with all of the players he helped as a high school coach at Waynesburg, Monessen, Beth-Center and Carmichaels. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Judith Bednar Bailey; a son, John E. Bailey Jr. and wife, Donna, of New Eagle; a daughter, Mary Beth Capane and husband, David, of Fallowfield Township; grandchildren, Rachel Stish and fiancAC., Chris Cox, Leah and Madison Bailey, and Tyler Capane; a brother, William Bailey and wife, Peggy, of Waynesburg; sisters, Joanne Kelley, of McClean, Va, and Betty Sue Lee, of Warren, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Bruce Kelly and William Lee. There will be no visitation and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
