John Legros, 54, of Stockdale, lost his courageous battle with cancer on June 4, 2009. John died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 6, 1954, in Charleroi. He was the son of Gizel (Kokoska) Legros and the late John (J.B.) Legros. John graduated from Belle Vernon Area High School in 1972, and worked at Universal Stainless and Alloy in Bridgeville until the time of his illness. He was an avid boater as well as an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He enjoyed spending many hours boating on the Monongahela River, riding his jet ski and spending time with family and friends. John was known for his love, kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit. A loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend, John "Uncle Nonnie" will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. John is survived by his mother, Gizel Legros of Stockdale; his twin brother, Jay and sister-in-law Maxine Legros of E. Millsboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne and Bill Waller of Fayette City, and Diane and Dennis Koneffko of Belle Vernon; nieces and nephews, Renee Baciak, Nicole Mendicino, Zach Koneffko, and Jayson, Ian, Frankie and Tyler Legros; great-nieces and nephews, Madison and Sydney Baciak and Michael, Corinne and Katie Mendicino; and a special friend, Bonnie Deems, of Brownsville. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 6, in the MELENYZER-DUBARR FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. in Roscoe.
