Lana G. Astle

Lana G. Astle, 69, of Coal Center, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 25, 2011, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center. A daughter of the late Robert and Mary Isabelle McKay Gregg, she was born on February 18, 1942, in Roscoe. She was a member of the West Brownsville American Legion Auxiliary. Lana will be remembered by her family and friends for her loving and caring personality. She is survived by a son, James D. Astle and his wife, Janet of St. Clairsville, OH; a daughter, Jackie L. Abbott and her husband Phillip, of Coal Center; three grandchildren, Jonathon and Jaelyn Abbott and Jessica Ehrfurth; a sister, Shirley Gregg, of Long Island, NY; several nieces and nephews and many adopted children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John E. Astle, and two brothers, Clyde and James Gregg. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in memory of Lana be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
