Margaret Scrip, 94, of Roscoe, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009. She was born March 26, 1915, in Elco, a daughter of the late Carl and Frances Esch Schneider. She was a loving mother to her six children, grandmother and great grandmother, and a good friend to all. Maggie, as she was affectionately called, was a marvelous cook. Her specialty was baking pies. Her life at times was a struggle, especially during the depression years, but she always faced every challenge with a very positive attitude. She is survived by her six children, Mitzi Hughes and husband, Robert, of Charlotte, N.C.; John Franklin (Buzz) Scrip, of Roscoe; William Scrip and wife, Darla, of Roscoe; Herbert Scrip and wife, JoAnn, of Livingston, Mont.; Patricia Bandini and husband, Terry, of Daisytown; and Charles (Butch) Scrip and wife, Diane, of Roscoe; and also a devoted friend and sister-in-law, LaRue Scrip, of Stockdale, 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John (2000), four brothers; Teddy, William, Carl, and Herbert Schneider; and five sisters, Elsie Redmond, Freda Walker, Clara Schneider, Dorothy Kurtz and Megdalina Schneider. Friends will be received 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, with the funeral service immediately following the visitation. A reception will be held following the service in the social hall of St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be private in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
