Marie H. Muckle

Marie H. Muckle, 88, of Fallowfield Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, in Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville. A daughter of the late Paul and Marie Ulisky Holish, she was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Charleroi. Marie was a 1943 graduate of Charleroi High School and proudly received her R.N. from Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She then started her nursing career at the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and, after a memorable 42 year career, retired in 1989 from the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and the Golden Agers, both in Charleroi, and the Mon Valley Nurses Association. She was the mother of Holly (James) Mosco and Lori (Robert) Davis; and grandmother to the loves of her life, Alison and Matthew Davis and Hannah and Gina Mosco. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered as a kind and compassionate person who placed the needs of others before her own. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Charles H. Muckle Jr. on Dec. 30, 2009. Family and friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, in the Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Jack Hernstrom officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
