Martha S. Hazuka, 75, of Richeyville, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 15, 2010. Born May 10, 1935 in North Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Susan Kelly Yuhas. Mrs. Hazuka worked for many years as a home healthcare provider and at the Senior Center in California where she coordinated many of the activities for the center. She was also the secretary for then California Mayor, now State Representative, Peter Daley. Martha enjoyed attending The Christian Center Church and studying the Bible. Her walk with the Lord was evident in her willingness to witness and share His love with others. She could often be found tending to her garden and flowers, cooking, making arts & crafts and beautiful jewelry items for her family, or volunteering at the St. Agnes Food Pantry in Richeyville. The most important things in her life were her Lord and her 5 children of which she was very proud. She had a giving heart for her family and others. Left to cherish her memory are daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Dr. Kenneth Mankamyer of Swanton, MD, Diane Fern of Pittsburgh and fiancAC. Michael Sable of Virginia Beach, VA, Nancy and Dr. Christopher Vankirk of Scenery Hill, and Susan Kolencik of Perryopolis; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Pauline Hazuka of Monessen; grandchildren, Lindsay Bolt and husband Josiah, Christopher Fern, Rick and Brandon Hazuka and Kayla and Christopher Odenthal; a niece, Christine Yuhas; nephews, Fr. Edward, Duane and Darin Yuhas; a brother, Edward A. Yuhas; her first husband, Stephen T. Hazuka; and a son-in-law, Frank Kolencik. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Yuhas and granddaughter, Christian Hazuka. Friends will be received on Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc, 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. An additional viewing will be held in The Christian Center Church, 130 Charity Lane, Belle Vernon, on Thursday, August 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. the hour of service, with Pastor Tim Burgan officiating. FOR THOSE WISHING TO ATTEND THE FUNERAL SERVICE, PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Interment will be in Howe Cemetery in Coal Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 517, Roscoe, PA 15477-0517.
