Surrounded by her family, Mary R. Demsey, 94, of Penn Hills, formerly of Charleroi, passed away quietly on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Born September 13, 1913, in Charleroi, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Madzy Ruschak. Survivors include a sister, Olga Jean Campbell, of Beaver, Pa.; 11 nieces and nephews, MaryAnn Ruschak, Carole Mack, Edward Ehko, GayleAnn Hamilton, Robert Campbell, Laura Campbell Hereth, Suzanne Campbell Baker, Colleen Campbell Cava, Cathleen Campbell Horvath, Christopher Campbell, Bryan Campbell, and their spouses; 24 great-nieces and nephews, and four great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Demsey, in 1996; a brother, John Ruschak; and sisters, Anne Bell and Anastasia Ehko. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 13, at 12:30 p.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church with Fr. David Dzermejko officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
