Mary Visniski, 91, of North Charleroi, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late John and Anna Gurnik Javornisky, she was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Charleroi. Mary was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Charleroi and a former member of the church choir, Ladies Altar Society, and the "R" Club. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Joe Wiehl of North Charleroi; a sister, Mrs. Alexsandra "Sunny" Holovac; a brother-in-law, Mr. Andrew Kalnicky; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Payne; granddaughters, Darcie Ashby, and husband, Jeff, and Nicole DeSimone, and husband, Dominic; great-grandchildren, Taylor Ashby, and Gianna and Anthony DeSimone; step-granddaughter, Kim Wiehl; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Visniski (Jan. 1955); a son, Richard Visniski; grandson, Joseph "Joey" Wiehl III; sisters, Mrs. Olga Halesky, Mrs. Jennie Trenk, and Mrs. Estelle Kalnicky; and brother, John Javornisky, Jr. Friends will be received Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a Parastas Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church with Rev. Gregory Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
