Nancy Gola

Nancy Gola, 83, of Elco, PA passed away on September 30, 2024. She was doing what she loved; gambling at a slot machine in Atlantic City, NJ with her youngest son, Ron Gola, by her side. 

Daughter of the late Frank and Hazel Welsh Chucuddy, she was born in Allenport on December 13th, 1940. Nancy was one of 4 children. She attended Allenport school and then later graduated from Charleroi High School, class of 1958.

 Nancy met and married the love of her life, Alexander Gola, in 1958 and had 5 children. Nancy and Alex were married for 47 years up until his passing on September 14th, 2005 from a long battle with cancer. 

Nancy worked for several years as a paraprofessional within the Intermediate Unit at Charleroi School District, retiring in 2007. She then was caregiver and home health aide to her daughter, Susan and grandsons, JJ and Christopher, until 2010.

 Nancy loved her family the most and was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Teresa Gola (Robin) of North Versailles, Thomas “Tee” Gola of Roscoe, Alex “Joe” Gola (Jeannie) of Charleroi, Susan Cullen (Jim) of Elco, and Ronald Gola (Lee) of Pittsburgh. Her grandchildren: Tiffany Smith (Mike) of Monongahela, James “JJ” and Christopher Cullen of Elco, Alex “AJ” Gola of Pittsburgh, Patrick Short (Beth) of Allenport, Her great-granddaughter: Lilliana Smith. A brother, Tom Chucuddy (Doreen) of Monessen, and a Sister, Beatrice Mohar of Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Gola, on September 14, 2005, 2 brothers, Frank Chucuddy & Norman Chucuddy.

 Visitation will be held on Sunday October 6 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where funeral services be held on Monday October 7 at 11:00am with Rev. John Thomas presiding. Entombment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
