Norma D. Kendall, 83, of Elco, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, in Adult Assisted Living in Dunlevy. A daughter of the late Robert and Edith Harris Aldous, she was born June 30, 1927. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Roscoe and was always willing to visit the elderly and sick in personal care homes and in the hospital. For many years Norma and her husband, the late John "Bucky" Kendall, Sr., who passed away on Oct. 20, 2004, could be seen delivering Meals-on-Wheels in the 5-Town area. She is survived by three sons, John "Bucky" Kendall, Jr., and wife Verna, of Coal Center, Robert "Bobby" Kendall and wife Corky, of Coal Center, and George Kendall and wife Dana, of Manor; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, June Funari, and two brothers, Bud and Dave Aldous. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in the Church of Jesus Christ in Roscoe, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. by Elder Lawrence King. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center.
