Olive Zetko

Olive M. Zetko, 89, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. A daughter of the late William and Jessie Jack Schmidt, she was born March 13, 1924, in Roscoe. Olive was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church and worked for many years as a claims taker with the unemployment office in Washington, D.C. and then in Charleroi, from where she retired. She was an avid Pirates fan and enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, crocheting, and going twice a year on a trip to the casinos in Atlantic City. But most of all, Olive loved spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Louis R. Zetko; daughter, Jeanne Marsland and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Chad and Natalie Marsland; great grandchildren, Katie and Joe Marsland; great-great granddaughter, Addilyn Marsland; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis "Harpo" Zetko on Mar. 7, 2001; and brothers, William, Robert and Warren Schmidt. She was the last surviving member of her family. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
