Pearl B. Spridik, 85, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully Feb. 26, 2013, at the Residence at Hilltop in Monongahela. The daughter of the late Theodore and Melanie Bazilvitch, she was born March 20, 1927, in Charleroi. Mrs. Spridik was a telephone operator at Bell-Telephone, as well as the former owner of the "Rose Bowl" property in Charleroi. She was a very active member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church where she could be found singing in the choir and also pinching pierogies for the church's pierogi sales. Along with her devout faith and love for the church, Mrs. Spridik was an avid bowler and bingo player. Her family and friends remember her for the love and care she took of her home in the Craven Hill Plan and being a good neighbor and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rose Ann McNerney and husband, Neal, of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; granddaughters, Monica and Natalie; sister, Elizabeth Kidd of Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spridik is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald V. Spridik on Nov. 14, 1981; brothers, Matthew, Edwin and Charles Bazil; and sisters, Kathrene Petrilak, Mary Tirpak, Helen Nelson and Anne Mantell. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a Panachida service will be held at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Charleroi with the Father Gregory Peterson presiding. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 1000 Lookout Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022, or the Residence at Hilltop, 210 Rt. 837, Monongahela, PA 15063.
