After a long courageous battle with cancer, Richard F. Adam, 64, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. Born in Brownsville on July 28, 1949, he was the son of the late Alex and Jennie Salvato Adam. A Vietnam veteran, he proudly served in the Marines where he attained the rank of corporal. Rich was very well known for his community involvement in the Roscoe area and for his willingness to help others. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Roscoe Fire Company, American Legion Post 801, 5-Town Park and was a councilman for Roscoe Borough. In his spare time he could often be found cutting grass at 5-Town Park or working in his garage. Left to cherish the countless memories are his wife of 40 years, Gail Jones Adam; daughter, Tricia Adam Jobes and husband, Jason; son, Ryan Adam and wife, Alyssa; grandchildren, Gracie, Aiden and Presleigh Jobes and Roman, Reese, Tyler and Janie Adam; brother, Michael Adam and wife, Ginny; sisters, Mary Ann Molish and husband, Steve, and Gina Martin and husband, Paul; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the MELENYZER-DuBARR FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Roscoe, with the Rev. James Bump presiding. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. American Legion Post 801 will conduct services in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Monday.
