Richard Sarran, 90, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010. A son of the late Richard and Erma McCullough Sarran, he was born July 29, 1920, in Belle Vernon. Mr. Sarran was a Navy veteran who proudly served during WWII with the Seabees. He worked for many years at Combustion Engineering and then as a welder at Lee Norse from where he retired after 22 years of employment. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Irene Selelo Sarran; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Thomas Lender, of Monessen; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sally Jo Sarran, of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jamie Lender, Richard and Mikaela Sarran, and Kristie Pampena and husband Julio; and great-grandchildren, A.J. and Julia Pampena. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two stepbrothers, Edwin and James Weaver. There will be no visitation and interment will be at the convenience of the family. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Albert Gallatin (Amedisys) Hospice Services, 100 Stoops Drive, Suite 300, Monongahela, PA 15063.
