Ruth Haluschak

Ruth Haluschak, 80, of North Charleroi, passed from this world on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Charleroi, the only daughter of Bert and Violet Fleming Matson. Ruth was an active member of the Community of Christ Church, where she played the organ and participated in many church activities. She was a former operator for Bell Telephone Co. and a loving mother to her four children. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law and two daughters and sons-in-laws, Ted E. and Karen Haluschak, of Charleroi, Robert H. and Paula Haluschak, of North Charleroi, Sandra and Pat Poel of Spicewood, Texas, and Brenda and David Bakaitus of North Charleroi; six grandchildren, Heather Zippay and husband, Gary, Samantha, Nicole and Olivia Haluschak, Joshua Bakaitus and Brandon Poel; one great-granddaughter, Victoria Zippay; two step-grandchildren, Maria Stasko and Jimmy Stasko; and one brother and sister-in-law, James Earl and Catherine Matson, of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Haluschak, on March 2, 1997; one grandson, Justin Haluschak; four brothers, Eugene (Bert), Clarence, Robert and Ralph Matson; and one half-brother, Dayton Fleming. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. The funeral home doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Elder Nancy Holliday officiating. Interment will be in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Monetary contributions in Ruth's memory should be made to the Albert Gallatin Hospice, 100 Stoops Drive, Charleroi, Pa. 15022
