Ruth Elizabeth Stache, 84, of Charleroi, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. The daughter of the late Oscar and Edith Davis, she was born on June 30, 1928, in Butler, Alabama. A graduate of Choctaw County High School, Ruth was valedictorian of her class and was awarded a full scholarship to attend Toccoa Falls College in Georgia. After graduating from Toccoa Falls, she came to Washington, Pa to work in the field of child evangelism. She met her husband of 62 years, August Stache Sr., as he was singing on a radio broadcast she was hosting. She was a homemaker and wonderful mother to her four loving sons. A member of Garwood Baptist Church, Ruth was active in music ministry and was a dedicated Sunday school teacher. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law; August and Kitty Stache of Washington, PA, Richard and Priscilla Stache of Louisville, Tenn., Steve and Cheryl Stache of Speers, and James and Diana Stache of Dunlevy. Left to treasure her memory are seven loving grandchildren who were the joy of her life, Christine and Catherine Stache of Bethel Park, Captain Jeremiah Stache of Columbus, GA, Koral Stache of Knoxville, Tenn., Karoline Stache of Greer, SC, Dr. Stephen Stache and fiancAC., Dr., Daniella Miele of Philadelphia, and Dr. Cassandra Rajczy and husband Dr., Robert Rajczy of Narberth, PA. She is also survived by three sisters, Ann Stache of Fort Wayne, Ind., Donna (Tommy) Gibbs of Clearwater, Fla., and Linda Roberts of Butler, Ala; and a brother, William (Maryanne) Davis of Butler, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy, a brother and sister-in-law, Oscar "Sonny Boy" and Jean Davis Jr., and brother-in-law, Joseph Stache. Friends will be received on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Cliff Reynolds of Garwood Baptist Church presiding. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery.
