Sara R. Solomon

Sara R. Solomon, 83, of Roscoe, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Tyrpon Bilitski, she was born on Sept. 1, 1926, in Roscoe. As a life-long resident of Roscoe, she worked for many years as the borough's tax collector and was a devoted member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Sara always took great pride in her house cleaning. She would not only clean her house but worked for many years cleaning for other families in the area. Survivors include her son Steven A. Solomon, Jr. of Lima, Ohio; grandsons, Derek M. Solomon and wife Amber, Damien M. Solomon and wife Kristie, and Dallas M. Solomon; great-grandsons Ian and Brayden; sisters, Loretta Volpi and Wanda Dowler; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven A. Solomon, Sr.; sisters, Helen Gray, Stella Skibo, Amelia Evans, Jean Venaleck, and Della Foster; and brothers, John and Walter Bilitski. A memorial visitation will be held at Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., Roscoe, on Friday, October 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. with Father George Moneck officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church, Roscoe. They would also like to express their gratitude to all of Sara's neighbors and friends who checked on her and watched over her over the years.
