Viola Lecat

Viola Vern Abbott Lecat 98 of Long Branch died Monday September 1, 2014 at her home. Born September 17, 1915 in Long Branch Boro, she was the daughter of Edward and Mary McCartney Abbott. Mrs. Lecat was a member of Mt. Tabor Church Long Branch and a former member of the Long Branch Grange. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband August Lecat on July 7, 1975, 3 brothers, Edward W., Henry and John Abbott and 4 sisters, Ellen Hess, Jean Lutes, Mildred Dixon and Mary Young. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 3, 2014 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday September 4 at 10:00am with Elder James Abbott presiding. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Long Branch.
