William C Hartley

William ‘Billy’ C. Hartley 74 of Stroal Acres passed away at his home on Friday February 25, 2022. Born in Brownsville on May 28, 1947, a son of the late Carl William Hartley and Julia Slowak Hartley of Washington.

Billy had worked for the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport Plant, retired from the U.S. Steel Irvin Works and was the immediate past sexton for Howe Cemetery Long Branch. Billy was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Roscoe Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #801 Roscoe. Billy loved to fish and hunt and was a fan of NASCAR.

Besides his mother, he is also survived by his wife of 50 years Gloria Ermlich Hartley, 2 daughters; Leighann (Cory) Campbell of Salisbury, MD, and  Rene Zdravecky of Roscoe, a son Edward J. Hartley of Stroal Acres, 4 grandchildren Bobby (Mandi) Booth, Justin Clouse, Ashley Clouse and Sara Hartley, 3 brothers; Fred (Bernadine) Hartley of Coal Center, Chuck (Mary) Hartley of Coal Center, and Ed (Toni) Hartley of Daisytown and his sister Lonnie (Fred) Doerfler of Coal Center.

Billy was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Bobby) Hartley and nephew Jason Hartley.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 4, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Melenyzer Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc. 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe where funeral services will be held on Saturday March 5^th at 10:30 am. with Pastor Brian Carroll presiding. Interment will follow at Howe Cemetery, Long Branch.

Military rites will be accorded by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard,  and the Roscoe American Legion Post#801. Cemetery escort will be provided by the Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard.
