Wilma F. (Sheets) Furnier, 78, of Roscoe, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012. Born Feb. 28, 1934, in California, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Myrtle Voithofer Sheets. For many years, she was the manager at Lila's Fabrics in Belle Vernon and also worked at the Hill's Department Store, also in Belle Vernon. Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to her daughter, Donna M. Furnier of Roscoe; sons, Daniel R. "Bob" Furnier and wife, Vicki, of Coal Center, and Dane R. Furnier and wife, Elizabeth, of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Philip Garrow and wife, Camila Alarcon, Becky Pipik and husband, Alec, and Jessica Furnier; great-grandson, Brody Pipik; her loyal companion, her cat, Lucy; and very special friends, the Ascencio and Horton families. In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, on July 27, 1987; her brothers, Wesley and Casper Sheets; and a sister, Elsie Phillips. Friends will be received Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, with Rev. Mark McCallion presiding. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center.
