Winfield "Winnie" DuBarr, 75, of Charleroi, while surrounded by his family, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. The son of the late Alfred and Mary Harvey DuBarr, he was born June 25, 1932, in Lynnwood. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of corporal. Winnie was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belle Vernon, the Air Force Association Joe Walker-Mon Valley Chapter 388 and American Legion Post 175 in Washington, Pa. He spent the majority of his years in public transportation, retiring from 88 Transit Bus Lines and Hilltop Bus Lines. After his retirement, he worked for several years as a hearse and limousine driver for Johnstown Hearse Rental. Winnie enjoyed meeting his friends daily at J & T's Bakers Dozen in Charleroi, where they would solve the world's problems over coffee and doughnuts. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rosella "Rose" Muzina DuBarr; two sons and their wives, Alan and Sandi DuBarr, of Mars, and David and Joyce DuBarr, of North Charleroi; four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Chad DuBarr and Jeffrey and Joseph Costantino; two sisters, Jeannie Robbins, of Warren, Ohio, and Darlene Marraccini, of Raleigh, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Richard Marraccini and Kenneth Robbins. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Pastor David Zona officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 State St., Belle Vernon, PA, the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
